Our Greenhouse/Solar Heater
This winter Billy built us a greenhouse on the south side of our house. I was able to start all kinds of plants including tomatoes, basil, eggplants, peppers, flowers and medicinal herbs early. Because we tend to have cool summers, we will keep the plants that like warmth in there for the growing season. We have found that by leaving the windows between the house and the greenhouse open, we can heat our home during the day, even when it is cool outside. We also have about 6 55 gallon water drums that serve as a heat reservoir and help moderate the temperature. These drums/barrels do take up quite a bit of space in the greenhouse, but seem to be well worth the space.
Our greenhouse was featured in an article in the Eatonville Dispatch and other people have been inspired to build similar greenhouses.

Do you have the pictures of your water drums? I just wonder how you make it?
